Newly released CCTV footage has shed further light on comedian Lee Kyung-kyu’s troubling behavior while driving under the influence of prescription medication. The footage, reported by MBN on June 25, captured a series of minor accidents and traffic violations that occurred on June 8 in a narrow alleyway in Seoul’s Gangnam District.

In one segment, Lee is seen lightly colliding with a parked bus, after which he exited his vehicle and staggered along the road instead of using the sidewalk. Two trailing cars were forced to swerve across the center line to avoid hitting him. The driver of the bus later said, “Lee Kyung-kyu told me he was trying to park and blamed his sluggish response on cold medication.”

After the incident, Lee drove to a hospital for an appointment. However, following his visit, he mistakenly retrieved a different vehicle from a nearby lot — a mistake that led to a police report of suspected vehicle theft. A parking attendant recalled telling him, “Sir, you didn’t park your car here today,” to which Lee simply responded, “Oh, did I not?”

Further footage from a gas station car wash showed Lee ignoring staff signals and accelerating into a wall. He also made an illegal left turn across a center line on an unmarked road.

Following these incidents, the police were dispatched on the day of the suspected vehicle theft and administered a drug test, which returned a positive result for prescription medication. Lee was subsequently booked on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act.

During police questioning on June 24, Lee addressed the media, stating, “I didn’t fully realize I shouldn’t be driving when taking medication for panic disorder. I’ll be more careful from now on.”

The unfolding events have sparked concern over the dangers of driving under the influence of even legally prescribed medication, raising questions about personal responsibility and public safety.
